I live in Hannibal Missouri, Mark Twain's Hometown, small community of 18,000.  I go about 100 miles to Columbia, MO for treatment at MO Cancer Associates.  Great Place!smile/queen.gif

Hey, Susan, where is your post on this topic?

Sarah, that's a long way to travel. Do you drive?  How often do you go?  Do you have a local center for everyday kinds of help?

Sending healing hugs to all,Lois

It's Right Here !!!! I go to Spartanburg's Gibbs Cancer Treatment Center in SC. They are somehow in connection with MD Anderson? The patients are filling in fast and I don't like it as much as I used to. Right now I just get zometa and i'm thinking of changing to aredia. I took it before. http://www.aceboard.net/kator/smiley81.abgif

I go once a month sometimes twice.  It's not bad, my husband takes me.  I never get sick with anything else so it hasn't been an issue for local treatment.  I don't even have any local doctors other than a surgeon.

I go to Kelsey Seybold Clinic here in Houston. It is about 44 minutes away from my house and I go alone. I just like it that way. I can read, or sleep without anyone bothering me. I think after 5 years of driving it I could probably do it blindfolded. I was going two weeks on and one off, sometimes every week if the Zometa or Herceptin fell on another week, but right now I'm enjoying having 3 weeks off until my next treatment since I'm on a wonderful 2 month chemo break. I love my onc. who is a wonderful, spiritual woman.

I live in Auburn, IN.....the oncology center I go to is in Fort Wayne, but has a clinic in Auburn.  I get gemzar every week for 3 weeks and then I have a week off.  My hubby has gone to every appointment I have had for the last 3 years.  What a sweetie!!!! Treatment now is only about an hour long so it isn't too bad.

I now live in Seattle. I go to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, which is an affiliation of Hutchinson Cancer Center and the University of Washington. My onc. Dr. Robert Livingston just left for another center last month. As of now I am onc. free.

Prior to my move last year I went to El Camino Medical Clinic, in Mountain View, CA., affiliated with no one, but used Stanford and ElCamino Hospitals for service. They may be small but they put me in a long remission.

SCCA is all uptodate, wonderful, wonderful. They even have an entire clinic called the Womens Health Clinic. So all gals with BC, or Ovarian Ca go there. No need to mix with the guys when we don't want to be seen or heard.
